What's New for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

While the previous Grand Cherokee models provided an attractive and functional appearance, the 2022 model year gives these words totally new meanings. Jeep’s emblematic seven-slot grille was widened for the 2022 Grand Cherokee and is surrounded by narrow pointed headlights. Additionally, standard LED headlights and taillights replace the previous Grand Cherokee generations’ halogen headlights. The long level-set hood extends the aggressive appearance beyond the front fascia, while the tapered roofline serves better aerodynamics while adding to the bold appearance. A distinct A-line stretches the length of the car from the corner of the headlights through the rear headlights and around the back, creating a sharp line and a flawless silhouette. The functionality of the Grand Cherokee is improved by new active grille shutters, air curtains, and vertical pillar spoilers. 

Jeep gave the Grand Cherokee a more premium feel with carefully crafted materials, modern design features, and advanced technology for its fifth generation. The center stack of the 2022 Grand Cherokee has been readjusted for a more seamless appearance with a standard 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. A rotary gear dial, a new Selec-Terrain switch, two illuminated cupholders, and a larger front bin occupy the lower center console. Behind the steering wheel is a 10.25-inch digital driver information display with five customizable tiles. Interior LED lighting with daytime/nighttime settings is now standard for the Grand Cherokee, providing a peaceful ride. Higher trim levels of the 2022 Grand Cherokee get features like Nappa or quilted Palermo leather upholstery, a 10.25-inch passenger touchscreen, heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, genuine wood dash trim, and more.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee still comes standard with the 293-horsepower 3.6L V6 and optional 5.7L V8 with 357 horsepower. While these engine options provide plenty of power and fuel efficiency for most drivers, a brand new powertrain option takes power and fuel efficiency to new heights. The all-new 4xe powerplant is available for the Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve trims. It features a turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine mated to two electric generators and a rechargeable 400-volt battery pack. This offers an electric equivalent of 57 miles per gallon, a 25-mile fully electric driving range, and a 440-mile total driving range. Furthermore, the 4xe features a robust 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque to take drivers anywhere quickly!

You can use Alexa to continue a list, check the weather, play music, and more inside the car. Other features of Uconnect 5 include voice-activated TomTom navigation with live over-the-air traffic updates, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices, Bluetooth for two enabled devices, and more. The newly available front passenger touchscreen display is standard on the Summit Reserve trim and provides co-pilot controls like navigation and access to the vehicle’s cameras. A 19-speaker McIntosh Labs premium audio system is also available for immersive crystal clear sound.
