2022 Jeep Compass Debuts

The Compass has been a top choice for drivers seeking a compact SUV. For the 2022 model year, the Compass received a complete redesign inside and out. It features notes of authentic Jeep styling, like the signature seven-slot grille, while an upgraded front fascia and other contemporary features give it a modern image. In addition, the interior of the 2022 Compass features more advanced technology, comfort, and style than any vehicle in its class. Please continue reading below as we give you a first look at the 2022 Jeep Compass and all it has to offer!

2022 Jeep Compass engine and drivetrain

Under the hood of the 2022 Compass, you'll find a 2.4-Liter Inline-4 cylinder Tigershark engine that kicks out 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque while maintaining an average of 31 MPG. The engine is coupled with a robust 6-speed automatic transmission for smooth acceleration and quick gear shifts. Front-wheel drive is standard for the all-new Compass; but, of course, it can still be had with Jeep's legendary four-wheel-drive capability. Active Drive is the available 4WD system for the Compass. It provides full-time 4WD handling without any driver input necessary. The system will seamlessly shift into and out of four-wheel drive depending on road conditions. Additionally, when Active Drive senses tire slippage, the system will automatically send up to 100% of available engine torque to the axle with the most traction, counteracting the slip.

2022 Jeep Compass exterior design features

Looking at the 2022 Compass from the outside, you'll immediately recognize the seven-slot grille surrounded by narrow LED headlights. The upgraded front end gives the all-new Compass a very commanding road presence and will certainly catch the eye of onlookers. The iconic grille stands out among the High Gloss Black accents that draw the eyes out towards the headlights. The middle grille also employs High Gloss Black accents and adds newly standard crisp LED fog lights. Compared to previous model years, the bottom grille is much larger, allowing maximum airflow to the engine. The larger bottom grille isn't only functional; it adds a styling element making the front fascia more sophisticated, drawing attention to the little details that make the 2022 Compass so attractive. The Trailhawk stands out from the rest of the lineup with a refreshed black and red antiglare hood decal. The Trailhawk's Matte Black accents replace the standard High Gloss Black accents used by the rest of the lineup, capturing the trim level's aggressive attitude. The middle grille flawlessly cascades into the Matte Black lower grille, where you'll find large integrated fog lights. An enhanced approach angle and updated skid plate protect the undercarriage of the 2022 Compass Trailhawk.

2022 Jeep Compass interior design features

Upon entrance to the 2022 Compass, you'll find that the entire cabin has been carefully crafted to capture the spirit of Jeep's heritage as well as the brand's forward-thinking. The instrument panel has been completely reimagined. It features a wrapped mid-pad that surrounds a painted dash accent, while a chrome-plated accent is available. Redesigned HVAC vents are slimmer and integrate seamlessly with the upgraded dash. The center stack is home to a standard 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen. 8.4 inches makes it the largest standard touchscreen in the Compass's class. To take it a step further, a 10.1-inch touchscreen is standard on the higher trim levels. Both touchscreens display Uconnect 5, which operates five times faster than Uconnect 4 and offers wireless Apple and Android smartphone connectivity, dual Bluetooth integration, five user profiles plus valet mode, Amazon Alexa virtual assistant, and many more high-tech features. The 2022 Compass will also be renowned for its spaciousness, offering 41.8 inches of legroom in the front and 38.3 inches of legroom for the rear passengers.

2022 Jeep Compass safety and security features

The 2022 Compass offers more than 75 safety features and technologies. Newly standard across the whole Compass lineup is blindspot monitoring with rear cross-path detection. This system uses sensors to watch the areas drivers cannot see and warn them with visual and audio alerts when a pedestrian or car is detected in a blind spot. The standard wheel-specific tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will display the pressure of each tire and alert you when one falls below the recommended pressure. Also standard is full-speed forward collision mitigation. This uses pedestrian detecting, advanced brake assist, and automatic emergency braking to avoid collisions from the front. Active lane management uses audio and visual cues to warn drivers if they begin to sway in their lane. If the driver doesn't take corrective measures, the system will gently guide the vehicle back to the center of the lane. Features like adaptive cruise control with stop and go, front and rear parking sensors, highway assist, and more are available on higher trim levels.
