2022 Jeep Compass Power & Handling
For the 2022 model year, the Jeep Compass utilizes one standard powertrain across the board for all of its models. This is the 2.4-liter Tigershark 4-cylinder engine, rated at 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. 4-wheel drive is available on all trim levels, and when properly equipped, the Compass can tow up to 2,000 pounds! The upper three trim levels come standard with Selec-Terrain Traction Management for expert handling, and there’s also a dedicated off-road trim known as the Trailhawk. This model has extra equipment like front tow hooks, underbody skid plates, and a 30-degree approach angle. It also comes with all-season tires, and a 1-inch lift. The Trailhawk can ford up to 19 inches of water, and also features a 20:1 crawl ratio thanks to its Active Drive Low 4X4 system!
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Power & Handling
For 2022, the Chevrolet Trailblazer has four trim levels, powered by one of two available powertrain options. The standard setup includes a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This powertrain produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, which many drivers may find to be a bit lacking in terms of power. The second engine provides a bit more oomph, this being the 1.3-liter three-cylinder. This engine pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and delivers 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is available, though unfortunately, 4-wheel drive is not. Plus, the Trailblazer’s towing capacity is just 1,000 pounds, compared to 2,000 pounds for the Compass.
2022 Jeep Compass Features & Design
The 2022 Jeep Compass has undergone a total redesign for this model year, part of which was the addition of a new trim level, the Latitude LUX. Overall, the whole lineup has taken on a more sleek and streamlined appearance, with LED headlights, a refreshed front and rear fascia, and a new Uconnect 5 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude LUX trim has features like leather upholstery, ambient overhead lighting, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Trailhawk has a bold look that goes along with its sporty capabilities, including bright red tow hooks, and an anti-glare hood decal. The Limited trim tops off the list with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging pad, and Gloss Black roof.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Features & Design
The Chevy Trailblazer is a bit smaller than the Compass, making it a compact crossover SUV. Unfortunately, this means that its interior offers less room, including its rear cargo are measuring just 25.3 cubic feet. From the outside, the Trailblazer resembles a smaller version of the Chevy Blazer, and it also offers an available two-tone color option for a sportier look. Inside, the Trailblazer seats up to five, with available leather interior, and red accents for the top-tier RS trim. Some of its tech features include a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, and a standard six-speaker sound system. Additional features are sectioned into available add-on packages, which offer extras like an 8-inch touchscreen, or a wireles phone charger.
