2021 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

The Ram 1500 provides a massive selection for its 2021 lineup spanning seven different trim levels. To accommodate the variety in models, the 1500 also offers four different engine options with ascending power outputs. The base engine is a 3.6 liter V6 rated at 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque and paired with a fuel-saving eTorque mild hybrid system. Next up is a 5.7-liter V8 rated at 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, followed by a turbodiesel V6 with 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, and finally the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with an output of 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The Ram 1500 provides specialized trim levels like the Rebel and TRX that have exceptional off-road capabilities, with the TRX also outshining the competition with its incredible speeds, racing from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado Power & Handling

Like the Ram 1500, the Chevy Silverado also offers a long list of various trim levels, totaling eight different models. There are also four different engine options available, beginning with a 4.3-liter V6 engine providing 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. The next step up is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque, a 5.3-liter V8 engine offering 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and last but not least, a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel six-cylinder engine rated at 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. However, the Silverado offers just one true performance trim level, the Custom Trail Boss, which includes equipment like an automatic locking rear differential. The other Trail Boss variant, the LT Trail Boss, unfortunately doesn’t add additional off-road equipment.

2021 Ram 1500 Features & Design

The Ram 1500 changes up its appearance based on the trim level you choose, with different themes included throughout the lineup. For example, the base-level Tradesman is a simple and classic all-American pickup, the Rebel has a more aggressive outward appearance and black and red leather interior, and the Southwestern-style Limited Longhorn has real Barnwood accents, and a signature chrome billet grille. The Ram 1500 is known for its best-in-class cabin comfort, with generous second-row legroom, and an available 12-inch Uconnect infotainment touchscreen. Some available features include LED exterior lighting, heated and ventilated seats, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design

Similar to the Ram 1500, the 2021 Chevy Silverado offers different features across its 8 trim levels. However, there is admittedly a bit less variety, with the overall appearance of each trim level remaining more or less consistent. Some of the Silverado’s standard features include power windows and door locks, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and Bluetooth connectivity. Upper trim levels have more available features, including leather upholstery, LED headlights, a heated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and a seven-speaker premium audio system from Bose.
