2020 Ram 1500 vs 2020 Chevrolet Silverado near Perrysburg, OH

Now that you’re in the market for a new pickup truck, it can be difficult to narrow down your options. We know that the full-size truck segment is extremely competitive, and we’re here to help you navigate it. We’ll be looking at the 2020 Ram 1500, along with the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. Between these two trucks are a lot of power, the latest in technology, and all of the little touches that make them worth owning. But which one is better? To start, the 2020 Ram 1500 has added in a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine, new exterior styling packages, and a new HFE trim for improved fuel economy. On the other side of things, the Chevrolet Silverado gets a turbodiesel engine option, available adaptive cruise control, and other available features! Keep reading down below to continue comparing what these trucks have to offer.

2020 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

Every single engine offered with the Ram 1500 comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and either two- or four-wheel drive. This gives you a great starting off point as to the reliability and power created by the engine lineup. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which can get you around 269 pound-feet of torque and 305 horsepower. The new addition to this lineup is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, which can get you an impressive 480 pound-feet of torque and 260 horsepower! Finally, the last engine we’re looking at is a 5.7-liter V8, which offers around 410 pound-feet of torque and 395 horsepower. The Ram 1500 has all of the power you could ever need!

2020 Chevrolet Silverado Power & Handling

The 2020 Silverado has a lot of confusing options when it comes to its engine lineup. The standard engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and is a 4.3-liter V6. It can get you 305 lb-ft of torque and 285 horsepower. Another option is a 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-4 which can output 348 pound-feet of torque and works with an 8-speed automatic transmission. One major engine option which comes with many different configurations is a 5.3-liter V8. This engine gets around 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The final engine options include a turbocharged diesel 3.0-liter inline-6, and a 6.2-liter V8. We still enjoy the stability and reliability that you get with the Ram 1500 lineup.

2020 Ram 1500 Features & Design

Many trim level options are offered with the Ram 1500! The standard features, all available with the Tradesman trim, include push-button start, a 5-inch touchscreen, 18-inch steel wheels, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, trailer sway damping, and even a 6-speaker stereo. More features are added by getting the HFE trim, which includes a carpeted floor, 20-inch chrome wheels, front bucket seats, side steps, low-rolling-resistance tires, a tonneau cover, and a few appearance changes. Another major trim to look at is Laramie, which offers leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, 20-inch wheels, power mirrors, a power rear window, forward collision warning, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and lane keeping assist.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design

While we enjoy the Ram 1500’s trim lineup better, it’s still important to see what the Silverado has to offer. Standard features, all with the WT trim, include Bluetooth, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, a seven-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. You can find more features by checking out the LTX model, which throws in dual-zone automatic climate control, a high-def rearview camera, a trailer brake controller, leather upholstery, a heated tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a navigation system. The High Country trim includes ventilated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, heated second-row seats, and a power-up-and-down tailgate.

Conclusions
