What does the Gladiator have for features?

When you view the 2020 Jeep Gladiator from the front at first glance you might just confuse it with the Jeep Wrangler. That is until you take a step to the side and get a peek at the five-foot steel bed that makes the Gladiator a midsize pickup truck. The steel bed features integrated tie-downs, under-rail bed lighting,and am available covered external power source. For additional storage options Jeep offers an available Trail Rail Cargo Management System that helps to organize and secure cargo. The Gladiator Rubicon model comes with cargo bedrock rails and a protective cab. While a tonneau cover, bed divider, and spray-in bed liner are available for all Gladiator models. The open-air freedom you love from the Wrangler is achieved on the Gladiator with the same removable doors and fold-down windshield. The Gladiator also offers buyers a choice between the standard removable soft top, available three-piece black hardtop, and the available three-piece body-color hardtop.

What's under the hood?

Under the hood of most 2020 Jeep Gladiator’s, you will find a 3.6 Pentastar V-6 engine. The Pentastar engine is capable of delivering 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission with this engine is a six-speed manual, while an eight-speed automatic transmission is available. When the Gladiator is mated with the automatic transmission the engine comes standard with engine stop/start technology. A 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine will be available as an option once 2020 rolls around. The EcoDiesel engine is rated at 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard with the EcoDiesel engine. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is capable of towing up to 7,650 pounds and payload capacity of 1,600 pounds.

How capable is the Gladiator?

To be able to deliver unmatched off-road capability Jeep offers the Gladiator with two different 4x4 systems. The Sport and Overland models receive Jeep’s Command-Trac 4x4 system, while the Rubicon model comes equipped with the Rock-Trac 4x4 system. The Command-Trac 4x4 system uses a two-speed transfer case with a 2.71:1 low-range gear ratio, and a heavy-duty third-generation Dana 44 front and rear axles with a 3.73 rear axle. The Rubicon exclusive Rock-Trac 4x4 system features a heavy-duty third-generation 44 front and rear axles with a “4LO” ratio of 4:1. The system also has a 4.10 front and rear axle ratio and Tru-Lok locking differentials. So you can adventure anywhere, the Trail Rated Gladiator has an approach angle of 43.6 degrees, breakover angle of 20.3 degrees, departure angle of 26 degrees, ground clearance of 11.1 inches, and up to 30 inches of water fording.
