Technology Features and Design Aspects
When the Gladiator starts rolling off the line, there will be four trim level variations available. They include the entry-level Sport, Sport S, Overland, and off-roading beast - the Rubicon. Jeep believes in bringing the outdoors in and thanks to exceptional engineering that is super easy! You can remove all the doors, lower the windshield, and lose the roof to feel the heat from the sun on your skin and the wind whip through your hair! There is no other truck on the market that can offer that, is there? Didn't think so! Moving inside the cabin, all your tech features are protected thanks to a weather-proof surround so you can explore without a worry! This truck is going to keep you connected and entertained thanks to features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, touchscreen options, navigation, and the Uconnect infotainment system. It will also keep all your gear and tools close at hand and secure thanks to innovative storage compartments, they include a lockable center console and lockable glove box. Powertrain Options
The Gladiator can be powered by two engine options in the 2020 model year. Up first is the standard engine, the trusty Pentastar that powers so many other Jeep models. This 3.6-liter V6 will be generating up to 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This is power than you can depend on to get the job done! Fuel economy is boosted thanks to the standard Engine Start Stop technology this engine comes equipped with. Plus, the heavy-focus on low-end torque and a broad torque band, this engine is going to meet all your off-roading and work needs! This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission but if an automatic is more up your alley, an 8-speed automatic is available. A 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine is also available for the 2020 model year. Putting out up to 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, this engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Capabilities
Jeep is known for the outstanding 4x4 capabilities their SUVs provide. Well, now they are bringing those capabilities to the mid-size truck segment! No matter what trim level you opt for, it will come equipped with a 4x4 system so you can tackle tricky trails and work sites. The Sport, Sport, and Overland models will be outfitted with the Command-Trac 4x4 system. This system equips the truck with a two-speed transfer case, front and rear heavy-duty axles, and a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio. The Rock-Trac system is found on Rubicon models. This system offers Dana front and rear heavy-duty axles, Tru-Lok locking differentials, an 84.2:1 crawl ratio - manual transmission or a 77.2:1 - automatic transmission, and an electronic sway-bar disconnect. The Gladiator is also offering an industry-first front facing camera known as the TrailCam. This camera is going to help you be aware of and avoid all the obstacles coming up ahead with ease!
Truck Capabilities
In addition to all the great off-roading capabilities, the Gladiator also offers stellar truck related capabilities you need. You can load up to the bed with up to 1,600 pounds so bring along your dirt bike or table saw with ease! Plus, the Gladiator makes it really easy to load and unload gear from the bed thanks to the three-position damping tailgate. You can keep all your gear that fits into the bed safe from the elements with the available roll-up tonneau.
