Ram Towing Technology

Presented by Rouen CDJR

If you haul, you know it's about much more than linking a trailer and driving away. Towing requires another set of skills separate from everyday driving, which can prove to be difficult. Ram wanted to make hauling easier for drivers, which is why they have developed advanced towing technologies to help you tow whatever you need with ease. Whether you're a first-time hauler or you have years of experience, the Ram towing technology is sure to make your life on the road easier. Keep reading below to learn more about the technologies Ram trucks offer to make towing a breeze.

Air Suspension

Air suspension is available to Ram trucks for many reasons. One of which is to make hooking up a trailer much easier. The rear air springs can be lowered before linking the truck to a conventional, gooseneck, or fifth-wheel trailer.

Cargo View and Backup Cameras

The cargo view camera gives you an overhead view of the bed of your truck and what's behind it, while the backup camera provides a lower angle and close-up view. Both of these cameras make lining the truck up with your trailer easy.

Multifunction Tailgate

The available multi-function tailgate provides three-way access to the bed of your Ram truck. It can fold straight down in a traditional manner, but Ram trucks equipped with the multifunction tailgate come with a 60/40 split to swing open horizontally. This movement allows access to the cargo area even when a trailer is attached behind it.

Blindspot Monitoring

The blindspot monitoring system gives you a set of eyes in all of your Ram truck's blind spots. Most trucks with blindspot monitoring have to be manually programmed to account for the length of your trailer, but Ram trucks sense the trailer automatically and provide blindspot monitoring coverage for the trailer as well. This allows you to maneuver roadways safely by keeping an eye on what is beside you and behind you.

Trailer Reverse Steering Control

The trailer reverse steering control system employs a Trailer Steering knob on the center stack. This system gives you, the driver, the ability to control the trailer's direction while the system steers the truck to follow. This allows for precision reversing even with a large trailer.
